Get ready to be inspired as we recap the amazing performances from last weekend's Missouri Arabian Horse Association show! From Chrissy's exciting debut with her young horses to Eileen and Jaeda's remarkable progress, the show was filled with unforgettable moments. Justine showcased her talent with Happy, a horse she is show-leasing, proving that passion and hard work always pay off. And let's not forget Sierra's impressive catch ride with Jet, showcasing the versatility and skill of both rider and horse.

At Above Level Training, we pride ourselves on helping riders and horses reach their full potential, whether in the show ring or during lessons. Spring Break Camp 2024

Yesterday's spring break camp with the horses was an absolute blast! The kids had a wonderful time painting horseshoes and decorating the horses with a wide assortment of colorful stickers. They also had the opportunity to learn about the different parts of a horse in our hippology lesson, as well as how to groom them properly.

One of the highlights of the day was when the kids got to ride in a mini lesson and a fun ride bareback. They were able to experience the exhilarating feeling of riding a horse while enjoying the beautiful spring weather.

After the rides, everyone had the chance to tour the horse stable and the children were able to hand out peppermints to the horses as a special treat. It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and unforgettable memories.

We are excited to announce our upcoming camps: Unicorn Camp on June 7th and Summer Camp from July 10-12. These camps are sure to be filled with even more fun and adventures with our beloved horses. Make sure to check out our camp info tabs for more information and to sign up as soon as possible as spots tend to fill up quickly.

We also encourage families to sign up for our mailing list to stay updated on any additional camps that may be added to our schedule throughout the year. Don't miss out on the opportunity to create lasting memories with our fantastic horses at our upcoming camps!

Here is a photo from camp yesterday of a camper identifying the different parts of the horse. To view more photos from Spring Break Camp be sure to check out Above Level Training on Facebook or Instagram!

March 3rd Horse Tournament!

Today at the horse tournament, Above Level Training Lesson students Makenzie, Taylor, and Matilda competed for the first time and did a fantastic job. Lily also showed Afires Victor for the first time and had a beautiful first class. They learned a lot, had fun, and supported each other throughout the day.

Competing in horse shows has many benefits, including:

1. Building confidence: Competing in horse shows allows riders to showcase their skills and abilities, which can boost their confidence both in and out of the show ring.

2. Setting goals: Working towards a show can give riders a tangible goal to strive for, helping them stay focused and motivated in their training.

3. Learning sportsmanship: Horse shows provide an opportunity for riders to learn how to win and lose graciously, as well as support and encourage their fellow competitors.

4. Improving skills: Competing in horse shows allows riders to put their training to the test and identify areas for improvement.

5. Building relationships: Horse shows are a great opportunity to meet and connect with other riders, trainers, and horse enthusiasts.

Above Level Training Lesson students have the opportunity to compete at various levels of shows, from small academy shows to class A, to regional and national levels. The program accommodates riders and horses of all levels and has seen success at the academy-national level. Congratulations to all the riders who competed today, and we look forward to seeing more success in the future.

Recap of Our Exciting Private Camp

Last weekend, our lesson students at Above Level Training Center had a blast at our exclusive private camp designed for those who are serious about improving their riding skills and preparing for upcoming horse competitions. Our private camp is perfect for individuals who are dedicated to learning, riding horses, and striving to become better equestrian competitors.

During the camp, participants had the opportunity to work on patterns on horseback and learn how to communicate effectively with their horses while riding. Saddleseat horseback riding was a key focus at the camp, as it not only enhances core strength, leg strength, and overall mobility but also provides a unique and enjoyable riding experience.

For newcomers interested in riding lessons, we encourage you to sign up and experience the benefits of saddleseat riding firsthand. At Above Level Training Center, we cater to riders of all levels, from beginners to seasoned competitors. Whether you own a horse or participate in lessons, we offer a variety of competition opportunities without any pressure to show if you're not ready.

Our next camp, open to the public, is scheduled for March 9th from 12-4 pm. We have 4 spots available for this exciting event, priced at $90 per attendee. This camp is geared for our younger lesson students or for children that want to be introduced to horses! We have more details about this camp under our camp-info page. UNITED STATES NATIONALS 2023!!!!!!

We had a great time at Nationals this October! I am so proud of the girls and their horses. Eileen, Chrissy and Mindy all showed for Above Level Training this October at Arabian US Nationals. We had a great time and a very successful show. Nationals is one of the most prestigious shows that you can attend. With keeping that in mind the competition is OUTSTANDING. You must be on your “A game” to participate at this level of a show. Advancing in a section or placing on a judge’s card is still a big accomplishment and can be hard to achieve! The highest a rider placed on a card this year was 2nd and the highest we placed in the top ten was a 7th. All good things :)

Eileen and Mindy kicked off the show in their only class- Showmanship 50&over! Eileen McCaulley was crowned US National Top Ten with her horse in training AL “TS Valdemar.” Eileen and Al had a perfect pattern, and we couldn’t have asked for any more out of them. This also was Eileen and Al’s 3rd National Top Ten in the Showmanship divisions at USN. Mindy Havenhill had a great class with training horse Khaliqah MA, but had one off straight line in her pattern causing her to be a hair short of being titled Top Ten. On the Brightside, Mindy and Khaliqah were placed 6th on a judge’s card making them place 11th in their steep division! This was also Khaliqah’s first national show and Mindy’s first time to compete herself at Nationals in the 2000s.

Al and owner Eileen after receiving Top Ten and Mindy!!

McMahil MA and owner Chrissy Norris

Chrissy Norris showed later that week on her beloved gelding McMahil MA. Her first class they had some lead issues, but still almost made their cut! They were end SECOND on a card. I am still elated about that result! 2nd,10th were their final placings leaving them 10th overall, but only the top nine horses advanced forwards. (For those that do not know much about USN, classes that are so big are divided into cuts or sections to qualify for the final round….USN also has a three judged panel). Their second class they were entered in was later in the week and they had a beautiful ride. They made that section! It was SO exciting!! They ended up competing the last Thursday of the show in the championship round. They had a beautiful ride but did not make the top ten in the class of eighteen. It was still a huge honor to show in that class and I cannot wait to see what they accomplish next year!

All smiles after advancing to the final! They made their cut of 17 horses!

Summer 2023 News!

Summer at Above Level Training has been a huge success!

We had our first lesson student compete at state championships this year! Lauryn and Po won a unanimous second place at the MO State Championship show in August. We also cheered on our show horse owners bring home 2 championships, 2 reserve championships, and over a dozen top five honors at our big regional horse show in June. Throughout May, June, July, August and September we went to various other shows which lesson students competed for the first time (or their 2nd-3rd time), some junior horses competed for the first time, and owners got to enjoy showing their horses! Everyone at ALL levels did amazing and it makes me so happy to see our program growing!

In addition to our success in the show ring, Above Level was thrilled to sell three horses and assist a lesson family in purchasing a horse this summer. We're so grateful for the trust and loyalty of our clients and we're excited to share that we are now prepping for United States Nationals this October with a few of the qualifying horses and owners! As we continue to grow, we've had limited lesson slots available, and we encourage anyone interested to message Above Level to learn more about lessons. We also have two remaining camps of the year, both are filling fast, so be sure to contact us to sign up.

It's been a great year for Above Level, and we look forward to continuing to provide top-notch training and care for all of our horses and riders. Thank you for joining us on this journey!
